Top Tip Store shoes correctly
This tip sounds very simple and that’s because it is. If you store your shoes correctly they will stay looking their best for longer and you will save money.
If you can, it’s best to keep your shoes in their original boxes, the boxes usually have holes in them to allow air to circulate. You can store the boxes in your wardrobe or under the bed.
Another tip is not to leave them exposed to direct sunlight as they will fade
I promised when I started this blog that I would show you my Shoeroom, now it’s not glamorous by any means but here it is in all it’s shoe glory.
These boxes are perfect for what I need as they have built in ventilation holes and they slide out like a drawer so that the tower of shoes doesn’t fall down if I’m getting a pair from the bottom…..that’s the theory although it has fallen once or twice.
The other advantage to storing them in boxes is that they don’t get covered in dust from being left out open.
This tower contains all of my heels. My flip-fops and runners are stored at the other side of the room and my boots are under the bed.
My dream is to completely convert this room into a walk in wardrobe/dressing room with built in storage for everything….maybe next year…sigh!
There are prettier storage solutions out there, IKEA do drawers that you can slot your shoes in. Also there are companies that will convert the unused space under your stairs into shoe storage.
Those over door storage systems are not really the best as they tend to squash shoes and bend them out of shape
What are your thoughts on my shoe room? Do you think I’m completely insane?
